57 Capital Advisors is launching a new biotech L/S equity strategy with Miles GL Capital in New York. Dr. Lei Zhong is to become the Senior Partner and head of the new biotech team, supported by 10 PhDs/MDs in association with 57 Capital. With unparalleled strength in medical research led by KOLs in different therapeutic areas such as neuro, cardio, oncology, metabolic and age related diseases, the new strategy aims to uncover tomorrow's true innovators in US and globally.

As a scientist from a Nobel Prize-winning lab at the Rockefeller University, Dr. Zhong has been an active biotech/healthcare investor for 22 years. He started his career at UBS in 2000, becoming a biotech analyst in 2003, where he moved to Natixis Bleichroeder to lead the Biotech Equity Research team. He was later a highly regarded Senior Biotech Analyst with Banc of America. From 2012 to 2017, Dr. Zhong co-managed an Asia-based PE/VC fund in healthcare. Dr. Zhong has been a pioneering investor in Gilead, Celgene, Amylin, Alexin, Vertax, Regeneron, and BioNtech. Since 2020 he has founded and invested in biotech startups in targeted immunotherapy, gene editing, human body science, and anti-aging.
